Promote Item window

The Promote Item window changes the Status of an item to the next stage of its Lifecycle

 

It is opened by selecting Promote from an item's right-click menu, or from an Item Display Action menu

 

Promote Item

 

•The To drop down box will contain a list of all the valid next States for the item from its current State (as defined by the Lifecycle for the item). In the example above the item is being promoted from "Open" to "In Investigation"
•The Status defined to be "normal" (the natural progression of the Item through its Lifecycle) will be initially selected
•Select the desired new Status and click Promote

 

 

Add Reason

 

Allows the user to add a textual Reason for performing the Promote.  The Reason can be seen on the Activity Window as part of the promote Activity
